The 3d Quartermaster Company has been organized since October 12, 1939. It was formed from units of the 3d Quartermaster Regiment, which in turn was created from the old 3d Division Quartermaster Train.

By authority of the War Department, the 3d Quartermaster Company has assumed the history, battle honors and coat-of-arms of its World War I and peacetime predecessors.
