Air Force Space Battle Lab |
|
The subdued aviation insignia of the Army Air Corps represents the spirit of innovation of early warriors like Generals Billy Mitchell and George Kenney who defied conventional thoughts and restrictions to significantly advance air power. Steeped in Air Force history, we must sustain this spirit of innovation as we face 21st Century challenges confronting the Air and Space Force. The blue orb represents the earth and the focus of the Air Force looking to the future--Global Engagement. The potential global nature of the future battlespace forces concentration on the six core competencies essential for combat victories in the next century. The deltoid represents space capabilities--existing operational space systems and the yet-to-be realized capabilities that are the focus of the Space Battlelab. The flight path of the deltoid, clearly above the atmosphere, and the black backdrop representing the vacuum of space, emphasize the sphere of influence of the Space Battlelab and the significance of that medium to the Space and Air Force domination of the vertical dimension. The unit motto--"Above All Others"--reflects the vantage point from space--the ultimate high ground, and our goal in any conflict, for in the profession of arms, there is no other acceptable outcome.
