On a Blue disc edged Yellow within a pattern of five Yellow stars forming a pentagon the White silhouette of the Washington Monument rising from a Green mound in base, the Monument surmounted by a Gray silhouetted helicopter fesswise. MOTTO: FIRST AND FOREMOST. Approved on 25 Feb 1970 (KE 37041).

72nd Helicopter Squadron Lineage

Azure, a maltese cross per bend Vert and Vert four bendlets Sable fimbriated Or surmounted by a bald eagle perched and elevated on a billiard eight-ball in base both proper; all within a diminished bordure of the fourth. Approved on 19 Jul 1993; replaced emblem approved on 6 Nov 1943 (K 2843).
