This company was originally Company A, 20th Battalion Georgia Cavalry. It was transferred to the 62nd Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry and afterwards to the 8th Regimentt Georgia Cavalry, by S. O. # 161, A. & I. G. O, dated Richmond, Virginia, July 11, 1864.

Yates, Arnold -- Enlisted as a private in Company A, 20th Battalion Georgia Cavalry, May 12, 1862. Transferred to Company D. January 10, 1863; to Company I, 62nd Regiment Georgia Infantry, to (New) Company I, 8th Regiment Georgia Cavalry July 11, 1864. Roll for December 31, 1864, last on file, shows he was on detail to procure remount since November 19, 1864. Paroled at Thomasville, Georgia, May 19, 1865.

Zitterauer, Andrew M. (or Zitterour) -- Enlisted as a private in 1st Company I, 25th Regiment Georgia Infantry, Aug 9, 1861. Discharged, underage at Causton's Bluff, Georgia, September 9, 1862. Enlisted as a private in Company A, 20th Battalion Georgia Cavalry, as substitute for J. W. Roberts, January 5, 1863. Transferred to Company D. January 10, 1863; to Company I, 62nd Regiment Georgia Infantry, to (New) Company I, 8th Regiment Georgia Cavalry in 1864. Captured near Petersburg, Virginia, October 22, 1864. Released at Point Lookout, Maryland, June 30, 1865. Died in 1929. (Born in Effingham County, Georgia, November 24, 1845.)
