Some people have been sending me e-mails and have been claiming that I copied information and "stolen" pictures that are on their web site. This is totally untrue. I do not plagiarize, I have never plagiarized or do I ever plan on doing so. Most all of the information and pictures that I have on my site have been received from 2 individuals that reside (I believe) in California. From what I understand is that they are researchers into military history and are huge patch collectors. They are giving up this hobby. I don't know these individuals and all I know about them is that they go by the names of Mr. Hart and Mr. Sole. These are probably not their names. But I really don't care as they have made my web site go from small to huge. 1.5 gigs and climbing. I have no idea as to where the information they sent me came from, nor do I care. I do not go from web site to web site looking for information or copy information from books as I don't have to or would do.
I have now been getting e-mails stating that I have been stealing information "word for word" from books they say they have in print. I don't have to do that as I stated in the paragraph above. "I do not go from web site to web site looking for information or copy information from books as I don't have to or would do." This is because of all of the information that I have been receiving from people visiting my site. Now, this note is going to the individuals that are claiming that I have plagiarized their site and have been stealing information from their books they have in print. Don't bother sending me any e-mails as a response will not be sent back. Information that is on MY site was sent to me by the 2 individuals listed above and quite a few of the people that access my site. I really don't care where these people have gotten the information, only that they have sent it to me. I don't take responsibility as to the content or any of the information on my site. I know that most all of the information is correct, and if it isn't, the people that e-mail me usually correct me. I have this website for a couple of reasons, to help people identify patches and give them an idea as to what the military is about. And the main reason is for EDUCATION. That is why I don't have a "Copywrite Notice". If someone sees something they like, they can have it. People are so scared that their information might be "stolen".
This website is in no way endorsed or sponsored by the United States Air Force, United States Marines, United States Coast Guard, United States Army, United States Navy or any branch of service that I have on this site. (Although it would be nice to have a sponsor like the Armed Forces so I could really make this site scream)
A little update on the 2 people that
were sending me information, pictures and histories for the last
bunch of years. They have stopped. They have stated that if I
would ever mention where I got my information from, they would
stop sending me stuff. Ever since I put up this 'disclaimer',
they have stopped. I haven't heard a word or received anything
from them. Like I said at the top of this page, "I thought
that I would never have to put a disclaimer on my web site."
Well, receiving e-mails from people claiming that I was doing
something that I wasn't forced me to put this up.
